Villa Reimann

Atika description: Villa Reimann

This villa is an exercise in deliberate, textured solidity. Its walls are built of continuous, rendered masonry, a mix of roughly hewn stone and irregular, unsquared blocks, giving the structure an earthy, almost geological weight. The effect is anchored by the rusticated limestone quoins at the corners, a material repeated in the frames around the windows and doors, lending the facade a crisp, formal rhythm.

Inside, the ground floor is a study in structural logic: iron beams and small brick vaults (voltine) support the ceilings, while pavilion vaults of cane and plaster arch overhead. Upstairs, the first floor opts for a different tactility, a flat plaster ceiling with curved coving, set within a wooden frame. The roof is a hybrid: part terrace, part hipped tiled roof, as if the building itself is undecided between openness and shelter. A villa that reveals its construction as honestly as its façade.
