Villa Pecile con corte, giardino e brolo

At Villa Pecile, nothing announces itself. The façade on Via Paludo is resolutely plain, a composition of rectangular and square windows broken only by an architraved doorway. But the building is a creature of two faces; its other side opens onto the garden with greater ceremony. Here, the main body splits into two distinct sections: one sober, with five vertical axes of stone-framed windows, the other with six, three of which are architraved openings. At ground floor, a three-arched loggia sits almost centrally, its stone columns and flanking pilasters offering a moment of shaded transition between house and landscape.

The villa is long and narrow, its principal elevation turned decisively towards the park. Inside, Venetian-style floors and ceilings of exposed timber beams recall a pragmatic elegance. In the garden, a stone well bears the family coat of arms, a modest assertion of ownership. The whole complex, with its main house and separate rustic annexes arranged around a perpendicular structure, forms a coherent ensemble: a country retreat that balances utility with a quiet, unshowy grace.
