In the Presila Cosentina, the Santuario Mariano Diocesano della Madonna delle Grazie stands as a quiet anchor of local devotion. Built in 1569, it was originally attached to the first Dominican convent in the area, a small church that quickly became a steady destination for pilgrims. The cult of the Madonna delle Grazie, deeply rooted here, has travelled far with emigrants from Campania, carried to France, Germany and beyond; many devotees still keep handcrafted reproductions of the statue, made by local artisans, in their homes.

Outside, a ‘roseto di preghiera’ has been planted, over two hundred roses, each set beside icons of the rosary’s mysteries. Inside, the centuries of prayer are palpable: the Mass, the traditional songs, the ex-votos left in gratitude, the annual festivals. The church passed to the local clergy in the eighteenth century, but the continuity of pilgrimage never broke. It was formally declared a diocesan sanctuary in 1961, though its real consecration was always the quiet, persistent faith of those who came.
