On a hilltop in Santo Stefano di Rogliano, the Santuario Diocesano di Santa Liberata rises in località Tirone. This Renaissance-era church was built on the spot where, according to tradition, a sacred relic of the saint, the lower part of her left humerus, was discovered. Once a foranial sanctuary, it was elevated to a diocesan sanctuary in 2019. The main feast falls on the third Sunday of September, preceded by nine days of prayer. On the eve, a crowd of devotees from the surrounding area keeps vigil; the next day, the statue and relic are carried through the streets in procession. Local traditions persist: handcrafted hot-air balloons are launched, and the drone of zampogne pipes wakes the town at dawn, then closes the festivities at nightfall. Since 2021, the 'Alba Day' event has been added to the programme, honouring a local woman remembered for her gentle dedication to the community.
