The church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Grisolia began as the ancient parish church of the medieval borgo, originally situated on the street below the present building. Over time, a particular devotion to San Rocco da Montpellier grew here, fostered by successive parish priests and focused on a statue of the saint carved in 1907. The church was elevated to a Diocesan Sanctuary under the title of San Rocco da Montpellier in 1995, a recognition of the steady stream of pilgrims who come from Grisolia and the surrounding towns. The main feast is celebrated on 15 and 16 August, drawing a notable concourse of the faithful. The building has been embellished, restored, and made functional to receive these visitors. It stands as a Norman-era church in a region where such structures were typically built with a sturdy, defensive simplicity, though later centuries have softened and enriched their interiors.
