San Nicola di Bari

The Church of San Nicola di Bari is a rectangular structure of 270 square metres, divided into three naves with a presbytery, a sacristy behind it, and a choir loft above the entrance. The load-bearing walls are of squared stone laid in regular courses, left exposed on the main façade but rendered elsewhere. The roof is pitched; the central nave is covered by a barrel vault with lunettes, built in solid brick, beneath which runs a stringcourse with a series of windows that light the interior, decorated with stucco and paintings.

On the left of the main façade stands a square bell tower of three storeys, its belfry open as a loggia. The main entrance is an architraved stone portal with mouldings, surmounted by a triangular pediment; aligned above, under a projecting eaves cornice, is a round-arched window. To the right, a secondary architraved entrance in moulded stone completes the composition. The church is a sober, well-proportioned example of its type.
