Area archeologica di Roca Vecchia

The archaeological site of Roca Vecchia lies on the Adriatic coast of Apulia, a few kilometres from Melendugno and close to Lecce. Since the late 1980s, a team from the University of Salento has uncovered some of the best-preserved Bronze Age monumental architecture in Southern Italy. The site has also yielded the largest collection of Mycenaean pottery ever found west of mainland Greece. These finds make Roca Vecchia a key location for understanding prehistoric trade and settlement patterns in the region.
