parco, commemorativo/ai caduti della prima e seconda guerra mondiale, Parco della Rimembranza di Villadossola

Parco della Rimembranza di Villadossola is a memorial park of irregular, roughly triangular shape, enclosed on two sides by roads and on the southwest by the forecourt of the Church of San Bartolomeo. A low stone wall with hedge defines the southwest and west boundaries. Two principal internal avenues cross at right angles; at their centre stands the main war memorial. At the western end of the smaller median avenue, a second memorial is placed, and further south stands a monument to Alpino Attilio Bagnolini, a Gold Medal for Military Valour awarded in Africa in 1936. Both are also reached by a minor path. The park is divided into four main flowerbeds, within which large-trunked trees are scattered loosely, with a row aligned along the northwest side. Commemorative poles line the principal avenues, and on the east side a stele donated by the Ravenna chapter of ANPI to its Villadossola counterpart is positioned. The park is a quiet, layered civic space, where formal geometry and commemorative objects together mark the weight of both world wars.
