Palazzo Tambone

Palazzo Tambone is a polygonal, block-like palazzo oriented south-west to north-east. It rises three storeys, including a semi-basement, with the levels divided horizontally by string-course cornices. The masonry is part stone, part brick, and partly rendered; the floors are brick, and the roof is pitched, clad in traditional coppi tiles.

On the ground-floor facade are three stone portals: two with full round arches and one with a lowered arch. Above, the first floor features a series of stone-framed windows with moulded sills and a single balcony with wrought-iron railing. Before the building lies its own open space.

Now unused, the palazzo was once fully inhabited. In recent decades, part of the ground floor served as a shop, while the remainder housed three storage rooms. It stands as a solid, unassuming example of the many urban palazzi that once combined domestic life with commerce, now quietly awaiting a new purpose.
