Palazzo Nadiani

Palazzo Nadiani is a modern-era palazzo whose stone rusticated portal and stone window sills announce a certain civic gravitas. A small balcony at the piano nobile, supported by stone corbels and enclosed by an iron railing, marks the corner with quiet emphasis. Inside, the entrance hall has a low vault, and the staircase rises with stone steps and small vaults at each level. On the main floor, most rooms are painted with floral and grotesque decoration across walls and shallow vaults. The principal salon overlooking Via Massani features a mythological scene on its ceiling. There is a marble-framed fireplace. An adjacent oval salon, its vault following the same form, opens onto the neo-Gothic balcony with three arches and columns, all capped by an umbrella vault with a palmette frieze at the springing. Floors are mostly terracotta, many hexagonal. The room behind the balcony has a coffered wooden ceiling. A separate unit on the same floor contains a large, disused room painted with coats of arms, coronets, and putti. In the small courtyard, recent additions house technical spaces for the restaurant below.
