Palazzo Capparucci

This palazzo is a piece of the architectural fabric lining Via Paccarone, the street that threads between the church of San Domenico and the town’s civic core, wrapping around Piazza del Popolo like a stone wave at the foot of the buildings. Its structure is a study in thoughtful asymmetry: a main block, two storeys high, runs parallel to the street, while a secondary, three-storey volume sits behind, linked by a generous terrace at the northern corner. This is a typical arrangement for such urban palaces, where the public face presented to the road is dignified and ordered, while the rear opens out into private space, in this case, a large garden.
