Palazzo Bettini con corte di pertinenza

A noble town palace, its principal entrance on Via F.lli Falleroni, presents a stern, load-bearing vertical face to the street. It is the rear, however, that holds the real interest. Here the architecture breaks into a composition of varied volumes, framed by two towers that anchor the building’s silhouette. Behind, a courtyard garden survives, a signature of the aristocratic townhouse of its century, a deliberate pocket of tranquility and display away from the public thoroughfare. Such spaces were not merely ornamental; they were statements of status, offering privacy and a controlled landscape within the dense urban fabric. The Palazzo Bettini, with its asymmetrical rear elevation and its retained court, still speaks of that old, layered logic of the Italian palazzo: a formal front, a private world behind.
