In the Notizie degli Scavi di Antichità for 1884, R. Lanciani reports the find of a monolithic, anepigraphic Roman sarcophagus at the Osteria Cessati Spiriti. The sarcophagus had been discovered in a pozzolana quarry and relocated to the grounds of the osteria. Brickstamps dating to 123 CE were reportedly observed at its reputed findspot.
