Nuraghe Santu Ortolu stands on the plain of Campu Lazzari near Siligo, a few kilometres from the town of Banari. This Bronze Age stone tower, a typical Sardinian nuraghe, is accompanied by the ruins of the eponymous church just ten metres away. Some thirty metres south lies the seasonal waterfall of Riu de s'Adde. The landscape is dense with prehistoric remains: 300 metres to the northeast is the Nuraghe Truviu, and close by are the remnants of Nuraghe Nuraghette. The site offers a concentrated glimpse of the island’s ancient nuragic civilisation, set within a quiet, rural terrain.
