Nuraghe Mannu (Doragli)

Nuraghe Mannu is a nuragic archaeological site on Sardinia’s east coast, 180 metres above sea level, overlooking the village of Cala Gonone in the gulf of Orosei. It belongs to the municipality of Dorgali, in the province of Nuoro. The nuraghe is partially visible from below and from the coast, but from its summit it commands a clear view over the surrounding landscape. This ancient stone structure, built by the Nuragic civilisation, is one of many such Bronze Age towers scattered across the island. Its position, high above the sea, suggests it served both defensive and observational purposes, a quiet sentinel watching over the gulf for millennia.
