The Necropolis of Monte Luna is an archaeological site near Senorbì, in Sardinia, close to a hill of the same name. Excavations have uncovered the remains of a Carthaginian necropolis, comprising about 120 graves. Built by the inhabitants of a Carthaginian settlement in the area of modern Santu Teru, it dates from around the 6th century BC. The graves offer a tangible, if silent, record of Phoenician-Punic presence on the island, a civilisation that left its mark long before the Romans.
