Hydruntum/Hydrous

A Greek city at the easternmost point of the Italian peninsula that sided against Rome in both the Pyrrhic and Hannibalic wars. In the time of the Roman Empire the city was located in the province of Calabria and was an embarkation point for ships leaving for Apollonia across the Adriatic Sea.
