House of the Ceii

The Casa dei Ceii, also known as the House of the Hunt, House of Fabia and Tyrannus, or House of Queen Helen, is a Roman-era dwelling buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD and uncovered during the excavations of ancient Pompeii. It takes its name from the Ceii family, who once lived there. The house preserves frescoes and architectural details that reflect the domestic life of its wealthy owners, offering a glimpse into the daily routines and aesthetic tastes of Pompeii’s elite before the catastrophic event.
