The ex convento dell’Annunciata survives as a fragment, its original Renaissance form all but lost beneath centuries of remaking. After 18th-century reconstructions, the monastery took on a double-courtyard plan, oriented north-south, with the Roggia Stura canal still cutting through the connecting wing. Today, the site’s overall footprint remains largely unchanged, but so thorough have been the alterations that only a few structures still show traces of the first building.

The most significant of these is the wing aligned with the canal. Inside, a portico runs on brick pillars with low segmental arches, a modest but telling remnant of conventual architecture. Upstairs, five original loggia openings survive, the rest blocked up when the space was converted into a dwelling. Here and there, the older fabric peeps through the later work, a quiet record of a monastery that has been reimagined, partitioned, and adapted, yet never quite erased.
