Ex convento dei Padri Minori Conventuali

At the heart of the hamlet of Pianetto, the former convent of the Conventual Minor Friars, with its church and bell tower, still anchors the village. The building wraps around a two-storey cloister on three sides, east of the church, facing the main street; another wing stretches lengthwise along the same road. Its stone rubble façades are punctuated by two regular rows of sandstone windows. For centuries, the cloister was entirely walled up with rough, exposed masonry, until a mid-1990s restoration freed it. Now its round arches, cross vaults, and columns with fine capitals are visible again. In the lunette, traces of late-18th-century frescoes depict scenes from the life of Saint Francis, alongside donors’ coats of arms. To the east, at ground level, the chapter house retains a coffered wooden ceiling. A quiet, solid place, its architecture speaks of centuries of monastic routine, now opened back to the light.
