Cùcuru Nuraxi

Cùcuru Nuraxi is a nuragic sacred well on a hilltop in Settimo San Pietro, near Cagliari in Sardinia. Its entrance lies within the ruins of a trilobate nuraghe tower. The monument features a nearly six-metre-high underground chamber with a false dome, at the centre of which opens the well itself, approximately 22 metres deep, tapping a vein of brackish water. The whole structure reaches over 27 metres below ground level. The well mouth is adorned with a singular monolithic kerb about 1.5 metres high.
