A composite-plan complex of buildings rises over three storeys, its load-bearing structure of rendered stone masonry. On the ground floor, a portico runs beneath a flat roof, formed of round arches resting on stone piers and moulded corbels; here are the entrances to the dwellings. The site negotiates a change in level between the uphill and downhill streets by means of a staircase. The buildings are covered with pitched roofs, finished with a simple, linear cornice. The complex contains seven residential units, a storage room and a carriage-house. Such an arrangement of houses gathered around a shared portico, adapting to a sloping site, is a characteristic piece of Italian vernacular urbanism: pragmatic, unshowy, and built for everyday life rather than architectural display.
