The Church of Saints Peter and Paul stands in the small settlement of Trassilico, a single-nave building with a rectangular, apsed plan. Its structural bones are straightforward: continuous load-bearing masonry, a timber-truss roof under a simple pitched covering of terracotta tiles. The main façade is centred on a portal with a lunette, above which a stone oculus has been blocked. Two splayed single-light windows open on the north-west side, while a secondary entrance on the south-east, with a monolithic lintel and lunette, is sheltered by a wooden canopy on projecting stone corbels. The sacristy extends from this flank. The freestanding campanile, square in plan, stands before the main front, its belfry open on all four sides with a larger arched window and a smaller oval opening above. An enclosing wall, entered through a nineteenth-century stone portal with an iron gate, surrounds the church and its garden.

Local tradition speaks of an earlier Lombard church near this spot, but the more plausible reading places its construction around the year 1000, the folk belief perhaps rooted in some subsequent discovery.
