Chiesa di Santa Caterina d'Alessandria

This small church, oriented east-west on a rectangular plan, occupies a site that dictates the very shape of its façade, which follows the natural slope of the ground and is capped by a simple gabled profile. Inside, the single nave is covered by a cross-vaulted ceiling on a rectangular base, while the side aisle has a flat roof. The presbytery is raised slightly above the nave floor. To the left, a large rectangular chapel opens from the main body of the building. The lateral exterior wall finishes with a cornice in the local 'romanella' style. The principal façade holds a stone portal, carved with floral and vegetal motifs, a detail that suggests a certain care in the church’s ornamentation, even if the overall architecture is unshowy. It is a building that wears its history quietly, in the stonework and the shifting of levels, rather than in grand gestures.
