Chiesa della SS. Trinità

This is a Renaissance church of rectangular plan, unusual in its two-aisled arrangement. A dome rises above a side chapel, while a tall campanile stands at the rear. The vertical structures are of continuous, rendered brick masonry; the horizontals are a mix of groin vaults and a barrel vault with lunettes, plus the drum-supported cupola over the chapel. The pitched roofs are timber-framed and clad in terracotta tiles. The church is a study in controlled, symmetrical design: the play of vault forms and the assertive tower create a composition that is both sober and dynamic. It belongs to that period when Italian churches began to shed Gothic complexity for a clearer, more rational geometry, a shift that prized proportion and light over ornament. Here, the brickwork is left exposed beneath its plaster, lending a warm, earthy solidity to the clean lines.
