This is a farmhouse, a plain, rectangular building of two storeys, its original stone threshing floor still intact before it. The plan is simple, the elevations a palimpsest of practical modifications. On the west, a later wall incorporates a grand, round-headed stone arch, linking house to yard. The south-west façade is a study in accretion: a recent rectangular door with stone surround, a stone window with a relieving arch in brick, and above, a low-arched opening with its own brick archivolt. A lean-to roof on the south-east side connects the main building to an outhouse, creating a covered space for tools and farm work. Beyond it, a wooden-lintelled door, topped with a brick relieving arch, is reached by stone steps. The north-east side is almost blind, save for a single, small oculus high in the centre. The north-west has two stone-framed ground-floor windows with brick relieving arches, and another above. The roof is a simple pitched affair of tiles, its wooden rafters’ ends visible. A record of continuous rural life, not of architecture.
