Vasiliko Tower

Πύργος Βασιλικού, Εύβοια

In the village of Vasiliko on Euboea stands a Venetian tower that has recently been renovated and remains in good condition. It dates from the late 14th to early 15th century, a period when Venetian authority over the island was firmly established and they had perfected the design of these large square towers. The footprint is a square measuring 8.30 by 8.40 metres, and the structure survives at its original height of 17.5 metres. The tower thus retains both its full dimensions and its imposing vertical presence, a solid relic of Venetian military architecture in the region. Its recent restoration ensures that this medieval landmark remains a clear and accessible feature of the village, offering a tangible sense of the island's late medieval past.
