In Eratyra, within the Kozani region, the Pepos House stands as a Byzantine mansion whose stones rest on far older ground. The site beneath it belonged to an ancient settlement also called Eratyra, a place that flourished through the Hellenistic-Republican and Roman periods. That layering of histories gives the mansion its quiet power: one building carrying the memory of centuries of continuous habitation. Today it preserves the architecture of its era while reminding visitors how deeply settlement runs in this corner of northern Greece.
