This modest Byzantine church, raised around 1200 in the Arcadian hills of Northern Kynourias, has watched eight centuries pass over the Peloponnese. Dedicated to the Annunciation of the Theotokos, it survives as a metochion, a dependency of the Holy Monastery of Orthokosias, a small satellite community of prayer tied to a larger monastic house. Today it is recognized as a protected monument, and its weathered stone and quiet proportions preserve the spiritual and architectural traditions that shaped medieval Orthodox worship in this corner of Greece.
